Irish legal system has certain acts that are related with computer crimes i.e. Criminal Damage Act 1991 and Criminal Justice (Theft and Fraud offences) Act 2001. The Criminal Damage Act defines criminal activity that anyone who possess anything with intention to damage property. The term “damage” could be in form of damage done to hardware and software by cyber criminals. The person found guilty under the act can get imprisonment of 12 months and fine of 1,000 Euro.
