Japanese aircraft carrier “Kaga”. She was initially being built as a battleship, but as a result of a coincidence she became one of the first large carriers in history. She was a part of Japanese Kidō Butai, a group of carriers that decided about the power of the Imperial Japanese Navy during the first half-year of the war in Pacific. After a daring attack on Pearl Harbor followed by a series of further victories there was a reversal during the battle of Midway, when “Kaga” and three accompanying carriers were destroyed which ultimately buried Japan’s chances for winning the war.

RAF Flight lieutenants John Peters and John Nichol were shot down over enemy territory on their first airbourne mission of the Gulf War. Their capture in the desert, half a mile from their blazing Tornado bomber, began a nightmare seven-week ordeal of torture and interrogation which brought both men close to death. In Tornado Down, John Peters and John Nichol tell the incredible story of their part in the war against Saddam Hussien's regime. It is a brave and shocking and totally honest story: a story about war and its effects on the hearts and minds of men.

Foreword by Air Marshal Cliff Spink CB CBE FCMI FRAeS RAF R'td.
After Amazon charges @£1.60 will go to the charities

There's a saying in the Royal Air Force: if you can't take a joke, you shouldn't have joined. It's a perfect example of the wry humour that permeates the mind-set of Service personnel, and it resonates throughout this book. Whether the tale is set in the air or on the ground, it offers a glimpse of what life was, and probably still is, really like in the RAF.
